Recently we have opened the doors and girls are allowed into the Group. Many of you may have already taken this step. When we put it to the cubs and scouts to our suprise it was unaminous in favour. The first girl to enter the troop has fitted in like a glove and she works well in the patrol structure. With a bit of luck we may be able to have a female patrol in the future. hq
The Group takes part in an award scheme called Peak Leasure. To gain the award we (Scouts) have to use our leadership skills to complete projects. The major project has been toBuild flower beds within the boundaries of the Headquarters. At first we used bricks that had been thrown over the fence when a near by house replaced a knocked down wall. The bricks needed to be cleaned as they had the old cement on. We even made the local press. At the time we had hoped to purchase the land which the HQ is built on. So we used this oppurtunity to publicise the project.
